Hive Types Available

Top bee-space brood boxes are supplied with a bottom rack only, for use with your own queen excluders. Bear in mind that these should ideally have the grill flush with the bottom face of the frame. For those who prefer to work without excluders, a rebated top rack can  be supplied. This ensures a reliable bee-space over the brood frames.

Bottom  bee-space brood boxes are supplied with both bottom and top racks.

Drawhives for frames with short lugs, such as Langstroth and Commercial, all follow the same basic pattern. Only the overall sizes are different. Accommodation of the sliding function, involves the loss of one frame, compared to the standard item. There is room for a dummy, however, with a bee space behind it. Drawhives for British National frames, with long lugs, enable the sliding function with no loss of capacity.

If, on receipt, you are not happy with the quality of the Drawhive, re-package it and contact us. We will arrange collection  and refund your money.
